How to Leverage Your Niche Site’s Content to Gain More Traffic

Did you know that content is one of the primary driving forces on the internet. This applies to niche sites and all other online business models you can ever imagine. You can’t sell anything if no one is checking out the items you offer. That’s why traffic generation is among the most important aspects of building niche sites. And while generating traffic can seem like a daunting task, there’s no reason to make it harder than it needs to be. It’s possible to generate traffic with minimal work by leveraging what you’ve already done. In other words, take something that is already created and use the content to make a video, slide show, email, or report.

Emails

It is smart to use content you’ve already created in your customer emails, as it can remind them about something they’ve seen on your site or get them interested in learning more about the products your niche site is offering. Most people who signed up to receive email from your site probably haven’t seen every video you’ve created or post you’ve written. For example, if your niche site sells Halloween costumes, you may want to use pictures and descriptions of current, popular items such as Toy Story costumes, Disney princess costumes, or Batman costumes in your emails to customers. This information is already listed on your site, but the customer may not have seen it or may only have seen it when they were not looking for a Halloween costume. Also, you can easily use information that is already on your site in your email auto responder.

According to statistics released by YouTube, at least three billion video clips are viewed by users each day. Making a slide show of pictures from your website and putting in relevant background music is one way to use your existing content to tap into this huge market. Another easy way to take advantage of YouTube is to use content from a post or article already on your site to create a power point presentation. The content shouldn’t be copied word for word, but you could make bullet points for the most important ideas and explain them on camera in person. This allows you to connect with your audience on another level without putting in a large amount of effort. Don’t forget to include a link to your site in the video description and to keep your YouTube business profile updated.

Reports/PDFs

Many people who run websites don’t think of it, but you can easily use several posts or articles that are already posted on your site to create reports or pdfs to sell or give to potential customers. It’s natural to think that nobody would want to buy this info when it can be found for free on your site, but the truth is that people like organized information. They’ll be happy to buy something that’s well-organized and all in one place. One idea is to create a small report and post it on Fiverr for $5 – this will make a great lead generator. Using affiliates to help sell your report (affiliate program) is another great way to get traffic.

Another option involves taking a PDF or flyer you have created and printing copies to give out at trade shows or other events in your industry. You can list your website along with an example of the information that can be found on your site. This is a great way to meet people for networking purposes as well as to connect with potential customers, and it can also be fun. Sticking with our Halloween costume example, it would be great for business to dress up when you hand out the information. Setting up a booth and handing out a flyer to the public takes time and effort, but attracting customers to your niche site is definitely beneficial to your bottom line. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, about $222,464,000,000 was spent by Americans in 2007 on items that were sold by telephone, Internet, and catalogs. It’s likely that even more money is being spent on the Internet today. Generating traffic to your site is the best way to ensure that some of these dollars go to your company – by using what you already have to get it.

I am liking the Youtube video idea more and more as I think about it. I think it could work very well with service industries. A very easy way to introduce yourself and your team members (if there are any) and have the customer get a visual sense of who you are.

They say that honesty is the best policy. If so, then a youtube video is the BEST way to be upfront with customers/visitors. The problem I have is coming up with content =/

Creating unique content is not an easy thing, once you focus on your niche, you can make geat content. The purpose of every business is traffic generation. it is so important that we can use social marketing techniques like facebook, twitter, youtube to get free traffic. To get you site rank 1st on google is hard word, besides there a lot factors that has to contribut to that. Working 2 or more hrs every day can do some good, but from my personal experience creating unique contents with high rank keywords is the main key, then followed by tools such as Article blue print that will bring lots of traffic.

Leveraging what’s already been done has been the practice of most of the successful online entrepreneurs. Having the mindset of making things as simple as possible is the key. There’s no question that hard work is still an essential part. However, bringing out the most out of the potential in every aspect is the trick. And the tips mentioned above about leveraging content are some of the ways to do so.
