If you have been searching for freelancing work at Freelancer, Odesk, Elancer and Guru you will notice that there are tons and tons of freelancing jobs available. Granted, even a whole day wouldn’t allow you to search through all of them. Not to mention that it is a waste of time doing that. Of course the better way is to use filters to look for the right jobs. There are a few posts written here on freelancing notably:

Let me introduce to you Donanza! NO it’s not Bonanza spelled in the wrong way but it’s like a bonanza for jobs! There are almost 100 000 jobs searchable on Donanza.

Donanza, is probably the best alternative out there amongst all the top freelancing sites or job pooling sites across the internet. It’s tagline “Make Money Working From Home” sounds like the title of a million other websites around or at least some keyword but Donanza really means what it says. It boasts itself as the best way for freelancers, students, moms, hobbyists, or anyone who wants to make more money working from home from paying projects, contests and jobs across the globe.

Basically Donanza is a search engine for jobs. Donanza is what Google is to search for all things known to man on the entire web.

Donanza is founded in Israel, Tel Aviv by 3 dudes in June 2009. It’s main purpose is to search for all things freelancing that can be done from home and for almost everyone. This is what Donanza says about itself.

“DoNanza lets you easily find the best work-from-home projects and contests from all over the web, matching your skills and interests, Simply enter your skills or interests into the DoNanza search engine, sit back and start getting great work-from-home opportunities from thousands of sites that best match your skills and budget expectations. One search, that’s all. We want to give you the best possible tools to leverage your skills and interests to make more money working from home.

The DoNanza project database contains hundreds of thousands of work-from-home projects and its constantly updated with new projects that are found across the internet – they are all waiting for you!”

Virtually any jobs can be searched on Donanza, things like

  • Copywriting
  • Blogging
  • Content Writing
  • Niche Site Content Writing
  • SEM
  • Social Media Marketing
  • Proofreading
  • Article Rewriting
  • Web Design
  • Voice over
  • Translation
  • Jewellery (<– yes making real jewellery and not just making jewellery websites)
  • Knitting (<– Right… Yes real knitting jobs!)
  • Handmade items (<– Need I say more?)

This is a screen shot for copywriting on Donanza. You can search copywriting through this link if you wanna have a better view.

Whether or not you are a mum or a student or a blogger, searching for jobs and doing one on Donanza is certainly a place to start searching.

Features that you see on Donanza are pretty much similar to other freelancing sites.

On Donanza, job searches can be fine-tuned with sliders on several levels, from

  • Budget/Reward (Fixed/Hourly/Revenue-Share),
  • Project Type (Contest/Bidding/Other),
  • Time Left and
  • Date Posted.

Now if you are someone who is sceptical about freelancing work let me quote what a mum working at home says about this.

“For those who’d rather keep arguing about the challenges of being a WAHM (Work At Home Mum), let me tell you: No pain, no gain! I was a call center agent before and I used to be a sounding board to irate callers. If you aren’t willing to sweat your way to have a good income, there’s no way you are going to get any. I am a work-at-home mom now, and I earn way better than what I earn when I was still working for others.

I’ve seen this site before on Webupon, one of the Triond networks. I like how it consolidates allt he different types of jobs and budgets that are available. You see something you like and apply directly for it versus going to the site itself and searching and searching.

Gina,

Great to see you here! Welcome :) Yeah Donanza is certainly one of those websites that consolidates jobs from across the job networks and the beauty is the search feature. The search feature makes it easy to eliminate the noise from too many distracting results from other job sites.

Hi Brian,
I love the donanza job board for all the reasons that you mention. I’m running one on my blog as well and feel that it’s been a really useful tool for everyone who is looking for a freelance job. You can also set it up to push new job listings out to your twitter followers as well, a feature I find really useful.

Hi Bryan – I had not heard about this outsourcing site. I have used vworker for some time now (and oDesk in the past), so I will have to go check Donanzer out! I like the fact it contains categories such a jewellery, knitting and handmade items… great for people such as work at home mums!

Hey Fiona,

Yeah, there’s definitely a lot you can do on Donanza. If you ever choose not to do freelancing for these items, you can always choose to make them and sell it on online marketplaces like Etsy, eBay or Rubylane. Good luck to you!
