Hi Peter,

Yeah that is a good read. I wouldn’t have found the post if it wasn’t for looking at some interesting posts retweeted on Twitter itself. Thx for stopping by though :)

Hi Bryan, just stopped by your blog via your comment on Mark Bell’s blog regards the Pat Flynn Challenge with Tyrone Shum.

Gotta hand it to Pat – he does indeed know his stuff when it comes to product creation – something I have been shying away from for quite a while now. But with Pat’s influence, its now something I’m looking much more closely into. After all, I’m getting a bit fed up with Google slapping my eBay sites because of their algo updates – a cruel and hurtful process.

But I think creating and selling a personalized product would be seen by Google as a really positive attribute to their index, and thus they will happily rank a site that is selling such a product well in their search results.

Any thoughts on that Bryan?

Cheers!

Hi Joseph,

I agree with you on creating and selling your own personalized product. Basically Google’s business is to help people find what they wanna find and there are trying to filter the good from the bad. Unfortunately by doing so, some of the good guys get affected inevitably. I think Google knows about that but no system is perfect and there are always updating their algo that I can’t even be bothered with already. Things like pagerank… ranking factors… etc.. Right now Im just doing what is best practice but I don’t practice pure SEO here.

I think Google just wants you to produce good content and quality websites. Creating your own personalized product is certainly one of the best ways of doing so. I’m looking at creating a niche specific site which I think has great potential but I just don’t have the time to do it unless I start outsourcing what I’m doing now. Seeing what Pat Flynn is doing has inspired me and I hope to be able to have good success like him with niche sites.

Btw, thx for commenting and stopping by :)

Hey Bryan, thanks for your reply!

I had a look at Tyrone Shum’s outsourcing stuff and tried to hook into his methods of utilizing BestJobs.ph. He seems to have been having a few issues with his system – I never got any reply. Nevertheless, I opted for OnlineJobs.ph which has been really super for outsourcing online work. $49 US dollars per month, but you can of course opt for a single month.

Pat’s most recent post was about checking out forums and seeing what questions are being asked. That, no doubt, is a very fine way to go about creating an info product. But at the end of the day, if no one sees that product you have on offer, regardless the fact you’ve spent $500 US on creating the glossy eBook, you’ll not make any sales.

I’m the guy who created the 40 Day Challenge on the Warrior Forum that Pat utilized to get his top ranking position in Google, but I make a lot less money than he does, even though I am pretty decent at SEO. Nope – I don’t have a high end client list that I SEO for – does not suit me – I don’t want to be at the beck and call of some high end company which has more money than sense.

But at the same time, I have to question my own methodology when it comes to actually making money online. Hence my reasoning that Pat is onto something really big here – we both know that just by having a quick glance at his monthly income. Its nothing new that he discusses – this sort of info has been around for years. But he has a very clear mind about things, hence his amazing success in such a short space of time.

Wishing you every success Bryan!

Hi Fran,

Thx for stopping by here :) Hmm, Thesis is SEO friendly. One of the main focus of the developers is to make a very SEO friendly theme so a lot of focus has been done on the coding of the theme itself. Thesis is itself a theme but it’s also just a framework, meaning that the whole theme is like a building block. So when you buy Thesis, it is just a plain white theme and you as the user will need to put in design and add coding to it to bring out the true potential of Thesis.

Thesis definitely can be designed into many different ways. If you are someone who knows a lot of coding, there are infinite ways possible to design thesis. It might look the same to you, cos maybe they didn’t do much to change it? haha. The price tag comes mainly from the flexibility of the theme itself. Most other themes might have different designs but are definitely not as flexible.

Hope that helps :)

Hey Fran, I would also like to add to what Bryan said in his reply to you.

I SEO for my living and since I’ve taken on Thesis as my theme of choice, a number of my smaller sites have improved in organic rankings, and I did not tweak the theme or anything else. I hate tweaking and just do basic on-page SEO. Its of no consequence – the Thesis theme is responsible for helping me to rank well for a number of keyword terms. Quite a few of the rankings are gained in part due to exact match domain names, I grant you that, but before I invested in Thesis, my rankings for those exact match domains were not nearly as good as they are now, and I have done no backlinking to gain those rankings either.

Hope that helps you in making up your mind, Fran.
