Backlinks are a very important part of link building. You might have heard of all sorts of backlinking services. Probably the ones that most people have heard of are Paul’s and Angela’s backlink building services. It can be a long and tiring going through this process of adding backlinks. You might consider also hiring someone to do this for you.

So without digressing too much, let’s take an example of a blog post or an article. How would you wanna build large amounts of backlinks without paying too much or for free. So what are the steps involved here?

1. Trackbacks

Trackbacks can build high traffic backlinks to your website.

What are trackbacks anywhere? Trackbacks are links that link to your site from an external site. If you are using WordPress, trackbacks are usually done for you. (WordPress only does the part of pinging but not the link back)

Steps

-          Write a post or an article. Make sure it is a good one. Make sure you get good keywords in your article too.

-          Find relevant blogs to your post/article and link back. Don’t link trashy blogs. Find high traffic good quality blogs.

-          Once you find them, add their blog title and URL and link back.

-          If the owner of that website likes your blog, then they should link back to your blog through that post/article.

-          So more link love for both sides. It’s really a win-win situation

While you are doing this,you would want a max of 10 trackbacks. Don’t do this excessively!

So if you do this right you can have a max of 10 backlinks for free!

2. Social Bookmarking

If you don’t have a share button or Tweet or Facebook “Like” button on your website, then you are doing something seriously wrong. Social bookmarking is a must have on all blogs these days.

So how do you get links. Follow these steps here:

Subscribe to all the Top Social Bookmarking websites you can find. Below is a brief list of some of them:

-          Digg

-          Facebook

-          Twitter

-          Propeller

-          Reddit

-          Mixx

-          Stumble

-          Linkedin

-          Tumblr

-          FriendFeed

-          Bibsonomy and etc

You can get a much bigger list through Onlywire. Onlywire is a social bookmarking service for multiple social networking sites. So find out from their website. You don’t have to sign up to all of them. Sign up to the major ones.

Yes, it is a very tedious process but it is worth the effort. You can sign-up to about 40 social networking sites here. The list on Onlywire grows from time to time so you can even more sites if you want to.

I usually publish my article through Onlywire which does the job automatically for me without having to sign up to each individual social site.

3. Clipmarks/Amplify

Use Clipmarks to clip parts of your posts on other social networking sites not accepted on Onlywire. Alternatively you can use Amplify to do the job for you. Clipmarks can be used to clip photos or parts of posts making it more unique for submission to social sites. So you won’t find too many similar submissions for one article or post.

You might be able to build more than 50 backlinks from one post but I think even 50 backlinks is enough for one post. Again, doing all this does not involve any cost at all unless you choose to outsource this entire process. Do this consistently and make sure you submit high quality articles or blog posts.
