CommentLuv Plugin For WordPress: Should Bloggers Be Using it?

Today I’d like to talk about another plugin that I simply love using. I have been looking around for good comment plugin systems that can actually bring benefit to my commenters as well as my blog. Tried using Disqus but felt that it really does not encourage too many comments from my visitors. It actually sort of stop blog commenting for a period of time. Probably because it is not so popular among the general blogging community. In this post I introduce to you CommentLuv.

You can visit the developer’s site to find out more about it but let me tell you why bloggers should really use it:

Benefit From DoFollow Backlinks

The CommentLuv Plugin is developed by Andy Bailey and one of its primary aim is to provide “dofollow” links back to your blog. If you visit the developers site you will find that the main theme with this plugin is to “reward your readers, encourage more comments and more backlinks”. Whenever you comment on a CommentLuv enabled blog, you will get “dofollow” link juice back to your website. Of course you can comment on “nofollow” links but why do that when you got a choice to comment on CommentLuv enabled sites? This plugin fetches feeds from a commenter’s URL each time you post a comment.

Having a trackback to your last blog post, gives you not only a “dofollow” backlink to your blog but also deep linking back to your individual post. Remember, having backlinks to your main site is not enough for SEO purposes. Having deep linking looks more favourable to search engines and helps in the long run for your website rankings.

Display Your Last Blog Post

If you are using CommentLuv or have commented on a CommentLuv enabled blog like FamousBloggers. You will notice that there will be a trackback to your last post after posting your website URL in the comments section of CommentLuv. You can view it here.

Noticed that there is sort of like an RSS feed near the checkbox with a link back to my previous post?

Having this great feature allows commenters or visitors to see each your posts which might interest them. Although they might not be a lot of traffic from this (depending on the popularity of your blog), it is surely a good thing that CommentLuv allows others to view your previous posts. I frequently visit other commentluv blogs through this trackback links

Explore A Whole Different Blogging Community That Rewards You

CommentLuv started off as a small community but it gradually but steadily gained more and more followers. I can say with confidence that more bloggers are using it than any other commenting system. The good thing about having a blogging community using the Commentluv plugin is:

  • You get to visit other blogs related to your niche that can get good dofollow links back to your website.
  • You won’t run out of places to blog comment. You can even use Google to search for CommentLuv enabled blogs. I personally use the search feature on their main site to search for commentluv wordpress blogs
  • commentluv blog searchBuild Relationships and Network with more people in your niche.

That really sums up why you should consider using the CommentLuv Plugin for your blog. But don’t take my word for it. Try it first before using it.

Thank you for the good post, I agree with you that Disqus does not encourage too many comments from readers, although it can reduce the pain of spam some how, but I prefer to use the default Wordress comment system because it has a lot of benefits rather than customize it’s look and feel to match your blog, I love the power of comments for SEO, I discovered that comments show in Google SERP as part of content!

Hey Hesham, thx for stopping by. CommentLuv is good in terms of SEO but spam comments still keep coming in. Akismet is the one line of defence I have, but I still find myself having to waste time trashing spam comments.

I love Comment Luv. It ties with Zemanta and Linkwithin. What makes it a superior comment plugin is that it leaves your latest blog posts at the end of each comment. This garners traffic, or the very least, some backlink juice.

hey there,

it certainly is a good plugin. I think bloggers should also take advantage of commenting on dofollow (commentluv enabled) blogs as well as nofollow blogs to get a balanced mix of backlinks.

Hey Rohan,

Commentluv is definitely a great tool to get good rankings but any system if abused will get you penalized.

Hey Kavita,

It certainly is useful but there are people who abuse the plugin from time to time by putting comments that are spammy.

About 2 weeks ago I discovered the ComLuv Network and love it. I publish a few blogs but was never interested in offering commenting because I figured it would require more of my limited time moderating than I care to invest. However, what I love about CommentLuv is the network and it certainly is a good way to attract traffic. I haven’t installed it yet. I’m doing more research (hence I ended up here), but am leaning toward taking the leap to offering commenting. I would only consider using CommentLuv.

Hey Peter,

I’m glad you like the Comluv network a lot. It has certainly benefited a lot of bloggers and website owners out there. There are lots of other benefits as well, for example guest posting on their homepage can get you new readers and visitors and referral traffic.

All the best!

I have used commentLuv for over a year and apart from the SEO benefits I have found the quality of comments has really increased and I have discovered a great blogging community.
