One of the most basic and still the most powerful tools to drive traffic to your website is the use of PPC advertising. And because there are so many ways to get free PPC ads on Google, it seems most marketers focus solely on Google PPC. Although Google Adwords is by far the most popular PPC programs out there, it is not the only form of PPC advertising for your home business.
You should also consider other PPC sites like this:
- Yahoo Search bMarketing
- Microsoft ad center
- MySpace
- eBay
and whole heaps more…
Regardless of which PPC sites you want to chose, the rules of the game remains. Take your time to:
- Do quality keyword research. Get to know the keywords and phrases your audience is using to search for information online so that it leads to your website. Know what keywords your competition is using.
- Write your advertisement with benefits not features. Your prospects will not be motivated by a 200 horsepower engine but they will be motivated by the ability to be perceived as virile, tough, fast, rich and so on. Pitch the benefits.
- Use key copyrighting tactics including:
- creating a sense of urgency,
- appealing to emotions, and
- using action words to inspire a click through.
* Call to action! Don’t forget this! Your PPC ads must tell your prospects what to do next. Do you want them to buy now? Click here? Learn more? Don’t be afraid to be creative with your call to action wording.
PPC advertisements are still a highly focused and economical way to drive qualified traffic to your website. When I mean economical, I mean when done the right way and if you KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING! They can be the single best traffic generation you have. Use them wisely!
